As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe that the relationships we have in our life greatly impact the way we think, what we believe, our emotions, and the way we move through challenges. I have experience working with both individuals and couples in a variety of settings, including outpatient community mental health centers, inpatient drug and alcohol treatment, and private outpatient settings.
I have a specialized focus in working with clients moving through challenges with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) therapy, the evidence-based, “gold standard” treatment for OCD.
I believe that in order for therapy to bring lasting change, clients must feel comfortable, safe, and empowered to exercise their autonomy and resilience. I bring a warm and collaborative approach to all clients that honors the courage required to begin therapy. In addition to evidence-based approaches, I use a relational framework to position various interventions to meet each client’s unique needs.
There is no greater pleasure than working with clients who bear witness to their own strength. I would love the opportunity to work with you; please send me an email at bmccabe@anchorpsych.com or give me a call at 610-717-5299 to begin.
